But then again, I dislike short games too. When I buy a game for £40 or whatever (well, £30 with discount) and then it only lasts like eight hours, I feel a bit cheated. Sure, there'll be online play most of the time, but the majority of them will be wastes of time (Haze, Killzone 2 pop to mind).
But then you'll think, "you're obviously just a fool who cannot keep their mind on one subject", but I object ! I have persisted and played a lot of long games. For example, my favourite games of all time have to be Half Life 2 and Fallout 3. Both very intense and indepth games (especially Fallout) which were so engaging and addictive that I couldn't bare to tear myself away. I'm pretty sure my playtime on one Fallout game (yes I've done more than one, eek) was about 40 hours. And even then I was slightly reluctant to end the game with completing the final mission.
I'm not 100% sure what I'm trying to say or get across. Yes, long games are good value for money, as long as they remain interesting and engaging throughout. I loved Final Fantasy XIII when I first got it, I thought it was the best one I've played (apart from 9, god I loved 9 lol) but then it suddenly got very old very fast.
Oh Final Fantasy. You're very pretty, I just wish I cared more about you :(
i've never been in to these games
ReplyDeleteI'm sure Final Fantasy is a good, just not for me. Sheesh, with Fallout 3, who has time for another RPG!?
